Our breeding philosophy
At Sweetheart Ragdolls, our aim is to breed healthy, happy, and beautifully natured Ragdoll kittens that represent the wonderful qualities of the breed. Health and temperament will always be our highest priorities.
Our breeding cats are carefully selected with consideration given to health testing, genetics, temperament, and breed quality. This ensures we produce well-socialised kittens with the gentle, affectionate personalities Ragdolls are known for.
We hope to produce traditional Ragdolls in Seal, Blue, Chocolate, and potentially Lilac, including Point, Bicolour, and possible Tabby variations. However, colour and markings will never take priority over health or temperament.
Our breeding programme will remain small and carefully planned, allowing every litter to receive the individual love, care, and attention it deserves. Our goal is to raise wonderful family companions who are given the very best start in life and become cherished members of their forever families.
What makes us unique
What makes Sweetheart Ragdolls special is the personal, family-centred approach we are building our breeding programme around. Although our Ragdoll breeding journey begins in 2027, it is being carefully planned using four years of previous breeding experience and everything we have learned along the way.
We are deliberately keeping our programme small. Our cats are family members first, living alongside us in our home rather than simply being breeding cats, and our future kittens will be raised in that same loving environment.
We believe responsible breeding is about much more than producing beautiful kittens. Health testing, genetics, temperament, careful pairing, and excellent early socialisation will all play an important role in every planned litter.
Most importantly, we want to know our kittens and the families welcoming them. We will carefully match kittens with suitable homes and provide lifelong support, creating relationships that continue long after our kittens leave us.
Our exciting future plans
We are incredibly excited for the future of Sweetheart Ragdolls, with our first planned Ragdoll litters beginning from Summer 2027 with our beautiful queens, Rosalie and Isha.
Our future pairings will be carefully selected with health, genetics, temperament, and breed quality at the forefront. We hope to welcome kittens in a beautiful variety of traditional Ragdoll colours, including Seal, Blue, Chocolate, and potentially Lilac, with Point, Bicolour, and possible Tabby variations.
As our programme develops, we hope to carefully introduce new bloodlines and continue learning, developing, and improving while always keeping the welfare of our cats at the heart of every decision.
We have no plans to become a large cattery. Instead, we want Sweetheart Ragdolls to grow slowly and thoughtfully, producing a small number of carefully planned litters and continuing to build a community of wonderful families who share our love for this very special breed.
